I Have No Confidence in My Flesh
💬 Sunday Sermon Discussion Questions | Philippians 3:3–9
Yesterday, Brother Blake shared a powerful message on having “no confidence in the flesh” and trusting fully in Christ alone. As you reflect on the sermon this week, here are some meaningful questions to help you dig deeper—whether personally, with your family, or in your small group:
• Icebreaker: Brother Blake talked about Paul’s “religious résumé.” What’s one accomplishment—big or small—that you’re proud to have on your own personal or professional “résumé,” and why does it stand out?
• Paul declared, “I have no confidence in my flesh” (Philippians 3:3). What does that mean to you regarding your spiritual standing?
• The message listed common religious activities people often trust in—being a “good person,” church membership, serving, etc. Which of these have you seen people lean on, or perhaps found yourself tempted to rely on?
• Take a moment to quietly reflect on Philippians 3:7–9. How do Paul’s words about counting everything as loss stir your thoughts or emotions?
• Brother Blake mentioned that major life events are usually unforgettable, including salvation. How does that perspective align with your own experience of coming to faith in Jesus?
• If someone asked you, “How do I get to heaven?”—how would you explain the difference between relying on religious works and trusting in Christ alone?
• Brother Blake encouraged us to “give your works a vote of no confidence” and “surrender to Jesus.” What’s one area of your life where you might still be relying on your own efforts, and how can you surrender that to Christ this week?
🙏 Take some time to reflect, share, and encourage one another as God continues to shape us into His image.
