Our Ministry Family

Behind every ministry at First Baptist Church Purvis is a devoted team of leaders and servants who are passionate about sharing Christ’s love, fostering spiritual growth, and guiding others to experience the joy, hope, and purpose found in a life fully surrendered to Him. With hearts committed to service, encouragement, and discipleship, this team works to create welcoming environments where individuals and families can grow in faith, connect with one another, and live out God’s calling in their daily lives. 

Blake Anderson

Pastor

Bro. Blake has served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Purvis since March 2025. Before stepping into this role, he faithfully served as Associate Pastor after joining the FBC Purvis family in 2024. A native of Carriere, Mississippi, Blake has been preaching the Gospel for over 16 years and has a deep desire to see people grow in their walk with Christ. His heart is to see God’s people strengthened, discipled, and encouraged through sound biblical teaching. 

Bob Kendrick

Pastor Emeritus

Bro. Bob serves as Pastor Emeritus at First Baptist Church Purvis. He came to FBC Purvis in 2020 as Pastor and faithfully led the church before retiring from full-time pastoral ministry to devote more time to serving with Kendrick Ministries in El Salvador. Bro. Bob has a deep passion for preaching and teaching God’s Word and continues to encourage the church through his love for Scripture, missions, and the faithfulness of the gospel. 

Perry McCain

Minister of Music

Bro. Perry has served as the Minister of Music at FBC Purvis since 2022 and brings more than 35 years of faithful music ministry experience. A native of Houston, Texas, Perry has a deep passion for crafting Christ-honoring worship services that lead God’s people to fully engage in praise and adoration. His heart for ministry is rooted in honoring the Lord through music and helping the church lift its voice together in genuine, Spirit-led worship.

Josh Eaton

Minister of Youth

Joshua joined First Baptist Church Purvis in 2022 as our Youth Minister. Known affectionately by students as “Bro. Jo,” he is passionate about helping teenagers discover who they are in Christ and encouraging them to live out their faith with purpose. With a heart for discipleship and a love for building authentic relationships, Joshua strives to create a welcoming, fun, and biblically grounded environment where students can grow spiritually and connect with God and each other. 

Brittany Starnes

Children's Director

Brittany has served as the Children’s Director at First Baptist Church Purvis since August 2025. A former preacher’s kid with roots in both Mississippi and Alabama, Brittany has a deep love for the local church and a passion for ministry with children. She is committed to creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where children can learn about Jesus, grow in their faith, and develop a desire to be the hands and feet of Christ—shining His light for all to see. 

Brandy Brannan

Nursery Coordinator

Brandy has served as the Nursery Coordinator at First Baptist Church Purvis since July of 2025. A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, Brandy has a heart for caring for the youngest members of the church. She is passionate about creating a safe, loving, and welcoming environment where children feel comfortable and parents can worship with peace of mind, knowing their little ones are well cared for. 

Sean Burleson

Senior Adult Coordinator & Director of Education and Discipleship

Sean is a Michigan native who came to Purvis by way of Daleville, Mississippi. He joined the First Baptist Church Purvis ministry team in November of 2025 as Senior Adult Coordinator and Director of Education and Discipleship. Sean is deeply passionate about helping others grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, guiding them to live out their faith within the context of His church (2 Peter 3:18). With a heart for teaching, mentoring, and building meaningful relationships, he strives to create opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and discipleship for all ages. 

Andrew Ellison

Communications Director & Pianist

Andrew hails from the great state of West Virginia and joined First Baptist Church Purvis in August of 2012 as the Church Pianist. Since then, he has also taken on the role of Communications Director. Andrew is passionate about using music and media to glorify God and connect people to His Word. Whether through the piano, worship ministry, or creative communication, he seeks to inspire, inform, and engage the church family, helping share the message of Christ with clarity, creativity, and heart. 

Donna Pylant

Financial Secretary

Donna has faithfully served as the Financial and Pastor’s Secretary at First Baptist Church Purvis since January of 1997. Originally from Lumberton, Mississippi, Donna brings decades of dedication and care to her role. She is especially encouraged by the loving and generous spirit of the FBC Purvis family, whose kindness and commitment to serving others continually remind her of God’s grace at work through the church. 

Connie Kendrick

Church Secretary

Connie has served as the Church Secretary at First Baptist Church Purvis since December of 2021. Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, she has spent most of her life in South Mississippi. Connie has a heart for helping others, and in her role as church secretary, she finds joy in serving the FBC Purvis church family and community each day through care, organization, and encouragement. 

Tina Barnes

Assimilation Secretary

Tina has served as the Assimilation Assistant at First Baptist Church Purvis for the past year. A native of Purvis, Mississippi, she has a heart for helping people feel welcomed, connected, and valued within the church family. Tina is passionate about building relationships and assisting new members as they find their place to grow, serve, and belong at FBC Purvis. 

Mike Stuart

Custodian

Mike has faithfully served as the Maintenance and Custodian at First Baptist Church Purvis since November of 1994. A native of Oak Grove, Mississippi, Mike takes great pride in caring for the church campus and creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the congregation and community. His behind-the-scenes dedication and long-standing commitment are a vital part of the ministry of FBC Purvis. 

Lori Molsbee

Housekeeper

Lori joined the staff of First Baptist Church Purvis in December of 2024, serving as Housekeeper and Chef for Wednesday Night Suppers. A native of Purvis, Mississippi, Lori faithfully serves the church family by helping create a clean, welcoming environment and by preparing meals that foster fellowship and connection. She has a heart for ministry and is especially passionate about planting seeds of faith in the lives of children, helping guide them to know Jesus through her service, care, and example.
