He Can Do It Again
Icebreaker: The Pastor mentioned the community coming together after the recent tornado. What's one way you've seen or experienced your community (or even this church) come together to help others, whether recently or in the past?
The Pastor's main message was "God can do it again," drawing from Jesus' words to John the Baptist in Matthew 11:4. What does the phrase "God can do it again" mean to you personally, especially in light of recent events or challenges?
The Pastor shared several biblical examples of God doing things "again" – from Noah's new beginning to Moses receiving the tablets again, and the potter reshaping the clay. Which of these examples resonated most with you and why?
The Pastor highlighted that God doesn't do things "again" because He messed up, but because "we as humans... need God to do things again for us on our behalf." (1:42:30-1:42:52). How does this perspective change how you view God's repeated actions or interventions in your life?
Silent Reflection: The Pastor spoke about John the Baptist's doubt in prison, asking, "Are you really him?" (1:41:56-1:41:59). He also mentioned David's prayer in Psalm 85:6, "God, will you not revive us again?"
Take a moment to reflect on a time when you, like John or David, might have questioned God's presence or felt a need for spiritual revival. What emotions or thoughts came to mind during that period?
The Pastor encouraged us not to judge John the Baptist too harshly, admitting, "I've been there. God, where you at?" (1:42:01-1:42:03). When have you found yourself in a "dark place" or a moment of doubt, and what did you need to hear or see from God "again" during that time?
The message emphasized that God is willing to reshape and rebuild us, even when we are "marred and scarred by the things that you've done" (1:46:46-1:47:04). What does it mean to allow God to put His hands on your life and "remold" you, and what might that look like in a practical sense?
The Pastor concluded by saying, "Let's not just simply say we love our community. Let's be active active and go out and show them that we love them." (1:38:16-1:38:20). What is one concrete step you can take this week to actively demonstrate love and support to someone in your community, especially in light of the needs mentioned?
