The Heartbeat of Holy God
Icebreaker: The pastor shared that salvation is the biggest miracle we'll ever witness. What's a "small" miracle or unexpected blessing you've experienced recently that brought a smile to your face or reminded you of God's presence?
The pastor described John leaning on Jesus's breast and hearing the "heartbeat of holy God." If you could have an intimate moment like that with Jesus, what do you imagine His heartbeat would sound like, and what message do you think it would convey to you personally?
The first point of God's heartbeat was "I love all people." The pastor emphasized that Jesus died for all, regardless of their background or actions. How does this universal love challenge or affirm your understanding of God's character, especially when considering people who might be difficult to love?
The second point was "Give me your all," encompassing our soul, sins, guilt, will, and all our ambitions. What does "giving your all" to God look like in your daily life, beyond just the initial act of salvation? Where do you find yourself holding back, and why?
Silent Reflection: The pastor quoted several passages related to the Great Commission, including Mark 16:15: "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Take a moment of silent reflection to consider what this command means for you in your current season of life.
The third point was "Now, go tell all." The pastor highlighted that our number one job is to tell others about Jesus. In what specific "fields, factories, facilities, farms, or fellowships" (as the pastor mentioned) do you have unique opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ?
The pastor concluded by saying, "God, your heartbeat is my heartbeat. Your pulse is my pulse. What moves you, now moves me." How might God be inviting you to align your personal "heartbeat" more closely with His, particularly in loving all, giving your all, and telling all?
